Ring Die Wood Pellet Mill or Flat Die Wood Pellet Mill


Wood pellet mill is an efficient machine which applied for wood pellet compression. It can be divided into two groups: ring die wood pellet mill and flat die wood pellet mill. However, people often get confused on choosing wood pellet mill. Which one is better, ring die wood pellet mill or flat die wood pellet mill?
 
Well, first, we should look at their differences.
1. The feeding ways are different.
Ring die wood pellet mill adopts forced feeding method, the raw materials enter the pelletizing chamber through high speed revolution, then the scraper in the machine distribute the raw materials unevenly. While flat die wood pellet mill can feed evenly for the raw materials enter directly into the crushing chamber rely on their own gravity.
2. The pressure is different.
The pressure of ring die is fixed since the ring die diameter of the ring die wood pellet mill is limited by the diameter mould of the ring die. So when the crude fiber materials are fed in, it is hard to produce high quality pellets with the limited pressure and the wear to the machine also very large. On the contrary, the pressure of the flat die wood pellet mill is changeable and with great density. Crude fiber materials like straws and sawdust need high pressure to be pelletized can use flat die wood pellet mill.
3. The discharging ways are different.
Since the rotate speed of ring die is very high, the breakage of the pellets is high. Compared with ring die, flat die is of low-speed revolution, so the breakage is lower. Flat die wood pellet mill can pelletize the pellet with more smooth surface.
4. The capacity of them are different.
The output of flat die wood pellet mill is about 300 to 3000 kilogram, while the output of ring die wood pellet mill is about 800 kilo to 20 ton.
 
 



 
 
Then how should we choose wood pellet mill with these differences between ring die wood pellet mill and flat die wood pellet mill? There are three things you should take into consideration:
* The purpose of buying wood pellet mill.
With the differences in the above design, we can see flat die wood pellet mill are more applicable for processing crude fiber materials while ring die pellet mill are more suitable for processing feed pellets and O-fiber raw materials.
* The raw materials you owned.
Different raw materials requires different pressure. So when buying the wood pellet machine you should take the raw materials you have into consideration. If your raw materials are hard to pelletize, you need buy flat die wood pellet mill, otherwise you can buy ring die wood pellet mill.
* The output of your factory.
Compared with flat die wood pellet mill, ring die wood pellet mill is charactered by large output which is more suitable for mass production and flat die wood pellet mill is more applicable for small workshops.
* The money you invest.
The price of ring die pellet mill machine is much higher than flat die pellet mill machine.
In addition, the energy consumption of flat ring die wood pellet mill is lower.





 
 Pellet Mill
 
1. It is widely used to make pellets from light substance, such as wood chips, sawdust, straw, pasture, chrysanthemum, palm leaf and so on;
2. The feeder’s especial structure makes materials conveyed evenly, it is specially designed for pellet of light substance with the density of 0.3-0.6g/ cm3;
3. Feeder, conditioner and chute are made of stainless steel for long service life;
4. It is with magnet and over load protection system, which protects the machine during production;
5. Feeder has a variable speed controller to meet different outputs requirements;
6. It makes gear directly-connecting as the driver, and is with quick-release die fixed by clamps, which will increase the output by 15% when compared to a machine with a belt conveyer;
7. The bearing and oil seal in the main drive are imported from Japan to ensure highly-efficient, stability and high quality;
8. The alloy steel die is with international advanced equipment and techniques, and has long service life, and can make slippery pellets of the highest quality.

Raw materials
Usually, this wood pellet production line not only making wood pellets, also it can make bioful pellets, using wood trunks, wood logs, wood branches, sawdust, bamboo, wheat straw, peanut shell, rick husk, sun flow stem, palm kernel shell etc into fuel pellet.
 
Crushing process-----crusher/hammer mill
   If the raw material is big logs with diameter less 300mm or big timber cutter, our BX-Series Chipping and Crushing Machine is your best choices; while tear-circle crusher/Hammer Mill is widely used to crush each kind of straw, wood chip, tree branch, bark and leftover bits from agricultural wastes. The best moisture content in the Crushing Process is less 18%, and the thickness of the wood chip is less 5mm. The moving full-wide operation door facilitates maintenance and replacement.  It is widely used in various feed mills, oil plants, alcohol plants, citric acid plants, etc.
 
Drying priocess-----Rotary Dryers
The best moisture content to pelletizing is about 14-16%. Our new Air-Current Rotary Dryer is made up of Burning Stove and Main Rotary Dryer, which can realize to reduce the moisture from 50% to 10%, and save about 30% energy consumption comparing the old Rotary Dryer. Our burning stove is fueled by coal and wood material, which can save electricity consumption largely. If the users want to use the other fuel such as gas and electricity, one Burner is necessary, but the extra cost will be charged. 
 
Pelletizing Process-----Ring die pellet mill
 (1). The lubrication system for wood pellet mill adopts the tracing and inspecting system controlled by the microcomputer. When the temperature of the bearing is over the normal temperature, the microcomputer will start the round closed Auto-Lubrication System to lubricate the bearings, which complete solved the trouble of lubricating roller depending on the operation experience.  (2). Driving Gear adopts the high precision gear transmission structure. The wear bearing is made from China Biggest Bearing Manufacturer according to our special requests. The ring die adopts the hoop fastening method, which increased the speed of discharge (3). As to the ring die and roller of the pellet mill, we have the fine machining with the alloy steel, such as  40Cr and stainless steel, such as 4 Cr13 . And our heating treatment is also different from the other domestic manufacturer, our lithium grease treatment improves the anti-abrasion of the ring die and roller more than 10 times, it can save the production cost greatly. 
 
Cooling and screening process-----Pellet coolers
  The temperature of the pellet is about 70 degree, and the moisture content of the wood pellet is about 15%, so we need use Cooler to reduce about 3-4% moisture, in this way, the pellet is easy to store and transport.
