How to set up a soybean oil extraction and soya oil refinery plant? How much it will cost to set up a soybean oil press and refinery plant?
These two questions are often asked by our customers. In fact, it is very hard to explain to you in several sentences exactly.  


Soybean oil solvent extraction plant adopts the most advanced solvent oil extraction method to extract crude soybean oil from soybean. Our soybean oil solvent extraction plant is with advanced designed and lowest solvent consumption, and can produce high capacity soybean oil. But before solvent extraction, soybean should be pretreated in soybean oil processing plant. And the send the pretreated soybeans to soybean oil solvent extraction plant.

1) Weighing: The Raw-stuff, Soybean is firstly stored in Buffer Tank which is for adjusting the Soybean flow. By means of Weighter the processed Soybean is weighted and the imputing quantity is accumulated.
2) leaning and Impurities separating: By means of Vibrating Sieve the larger and smaller size impurities in Soybean are removed out.
3) Gravity De-stoner & Magnetic Separating: some impurities which are as almost same size as Soybean are still mixed in Soybean, but as their gravity or nature properties are different, by means of Gravity De-stoner and Magnetic Separator , the heavy stone and ferric impurities are separated out from Soybean.
4) Crushing & De-hulling: In order to increase protein content in Soya Meal, the de-hulling process is very significant. De-hulling system is composed of Cracking by two Crushing Mill which breaks Soybean into small pieces, and twice separating by Aspirators which separates Soy Hull out from Soya Meal.
5) Flaking: Flaking Machine is adopted for flaking Soya Meat into thin Flake, during which Soybean cell tissue is destroyed.
6) Extrusion puffing: The Soya Flake is fed into Expander in which heat is produced with the functions of kneading, friction between the spiral shaft and inner wall of the Expander, meanwhile eject in steam to increase Soya Flake temperature.
7) Drying & Cooling: Jetting out from the end of expander, the Soya Cake is very moist and hot , it should be dried at moisture content 9.5% or so, and cooled down to about 60℃ by counter-current-wise down in Cooling Dryer, and then the dried Soya Cake is conveyed into Extraction workshop. 

2.1 Related information about process of soybean oil extraction
 
Material for soybean oil extraction :  flaked soybean , thickness about 0.3mm
Chemical used for soybean oil extraction:  Solvent N-hexane
Soybean oil extraction types:  batch soybean oil extraction(using extraction tanks for small capacity) or continuous soybean oil extraction ( Rotocel oil extractor, loop type oil extractor or towline oil extractor etc)

2.2 Solvent Extraction Product Technical Index
(1) the residual solvent in meal: 500 PPM or less (detonation test)
(2) the water in the meal: 12% or less
(3) the residual oil in the meal: 1% or less
(4) the cake color: normal
(5) oil residue solvent: 200 PPM or less
(6) the total volatile oil: 0.2% or less
(7) hair oil color: no peculiar smell, 80 ℃ is roughly clear
 
2.3 Solvent Extraction Product Economic Index
 
(1) tons of material consumption solution: 5 kg/t or less material
(2) tons of material power consumption: 18.5 kWh
(3) tons of steam material: 450 kg
(4) tons of feed water consumption: 1.0 m3
(5) tons of material circulation water: 25 m3


2.4 Soybean oil extraction process:
Flaked Material→Extraction → Wet meal →Desolventizer→Cooling →Dry meal packing
Mixed oil→Filter→Evaporation→Crude soybean oil
After pretreatment, flaked soybean will go to oil extractor to extract oil with solvent N-hexane . After oil extractor, we will get mixed oil and wet meal. Solvent will be evaporated from mixed oil through evaporators and cooled down inside condensers. And wet meal will be dried inside desolventizer and solvent is transforming into gas and evaporated. 

As for which type equipment you need choosing, it depends on your requirement of product oil and your budget. For example, if you want to set up a 20tpd soybean oil refinery plant, you can choose batch type or semi-continuous type soybean oil refinery plant. Of course, semi-continuous type has better refining effect, but it costs more.

1. The degumming process in soybean oil refining process:
 
Soybean oil has high gums content. Usually use hydration degumming process to remove gums from crude soybean oil with the help of phosphoric acid.
 
2. The Deacidification (neutralization) process in soybean oil refining process:
 
In batch type soybean oil refinery plant, free fatty acids are neutralized by using alkali, and then are converted into soap stock. At the same time, additional impurities are also removed by soap stock adsorption.
 
In semi-continuous and full-continuous type soybean oil refinery plant, you can choose physical refining method to remove the free fatty acids. It is using steam to bring the free fatty acids out, and then collects the free fatty acid into a tank.
 
3. The Decolorization process in soybean oil refining process:
 
Decolorization process is using white clay to adsorb unwanted pigments and then the color of soybean oil will become much lighter.
 
4. The Deodorization process in soybean oil refining process:
 
Deodorization process is to remove unacceptable odors by steam distillation. In the process, the odoriferous compound are stripped off by injecting steam into heated oil under high vacuum pressure.
